About the Show: Writing your story can be a life-changing event. When Karmen, a teenager living in NYC, decides to write a memoir about her life for a school assignment, she sets out to prove that her story is worthy of being written. By chronicling her life, she begins to see that many of her peers around her share similar hardships like poverty, violence, neglect, family conflict, and a deep yearning for meaning in their lives. Will Karmen, and the other teenagers in the city, redeem their experiences and understand why they are striving and struggling so hard? Or, will they get buried beneath the injustices and hopelessness of their pasts?
