Since joining the Possibility Project team as a volunteer in 2003, Elizabeth Howard has worked with and touched the lives of over 600 TPP teenagers. She began her career with us as the Assistant Artistic Director for the Saturday Cast, and after three years, began leading her own Possibility Project cast which is currently in its fourth year under her tenure.

When asked about why she works with The Possibility Project, she had the following to say:

“When I was in college, I saw one of the very first Possibility Project shows and was blown away by what I saw. I had never before seen a group of young people with more dedication or passion about making a change. It was inspiring. When given the opportunity in 2003, I jumped at the chance to be a part of an organization that had already made a huge impact on me – a place that uses art and storytelling to create change… a place that believes in the voices of young people and works with them so that they are heard.

Teenagers have a different perspective on the world because they are just getting started in it. They are able to see possibilities and have fresh ideas about how to create the change our communities need. Through The Possibility Project, I look to empower our young people to trust these ideas and to keep working to become the next leaders of our society. I hope that while in this program our young people learn the importance of dreams combined with hard work, the power of believing in yourself, and the responsibility they have to make the world better for generations to come.

I have loved and participated in theatre for over twenty years and I have never been as moved or as inspired as I am by the courage and the dedication of the young people on this stage. I learn from them every day about what is important, how to have courage, and what it means to believe in something bigger than one’s self. It is an honor to share this experience with them.”
