About the Show:
When you find yourself on your own, where do you go? For Sunshine, Sally and Jo the answer is an empty church. But will this place offer them the sanctuary that they think it will? As the community around them faces violence, loss, betrayal and heartache, they seek the answers they desperately need. Can they learn what it really means to love and to trust? Or are they destined to end up alone?
Promised is an original musical drama written and performed by a diverse group of NYC teenagers in foster care. The stories in the show are based on the real-life experiences of the cast and their ideas for change about the most serious issues they face as young people.
