Upcoming New York Auditions

Auditions for our Foster Care Program are HAPPENING NOW! This program is open to any youth ages 15-20 who is in or has been in foster care. Audition dates are below. Download a flier

• Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm – Chelsea Studios*
• Wednesday, March 28, 2012 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm – Chelsea Studios*
• Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm – Chelsea Studios*

*Chelsea Studios is located at 151 West 26th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues. Nearest trains are: 1 to 28th St., N/R to 28th St., and F to 23rd St.

About Auditions: Participants are selected through non-competitive group “auditions.” These “auditions” include completing a written survey, as well as engaging in improvisation, simple dancing, and singing. Criteria for participant selection include need for the program, availability, willingness to collaborate with a diverse group of young people, and concern for the various issues facing young people today. No one is chosen on the basis of talent or ability.

Our New York Programs

Foster Care Program

The Foster Care program is made up of 20-30 New York City teenagers (15-20 yrs) who are currently in or have recently been in foster care.

• Rehearsals: Participants meet on Mondays and Wednesdays in the after-school hours from March through December
• Premiere: The Cast’s show premieres in late November
• Auditions: Agency auditions in February; Open auditions in March

Saturday Program

The Saturday program is made up of 70-80 teenagers from all 5 boroughs of New York City. Any teenager (13-19 yrs) is welcome to audition.

• Rehearsals: Participants meet on Saturdays from 10:30am to 5:30pm from early October through late June
• Premiere: The Cast’s show premieres in mid-May
• Auditions: August and September

Tuesday/Thursday Program

The Tuesday/Thursday program is made up of 40-50 teenagers from all 5 boroughs of New York City. Any teenager (13-19 yrs) is welcome to audition.

• Rehearsals: Participants meet in the after-school hours from early October through late June
• Premiere: The Cast’s show premieres in late May
• Auditions: August and September
