In 2015, The Possibility Project started a new initiative – the Youth Justice Program – that brings  together young people ages 15 to 20 who are entangled in the NYC juvenile justice system. Our aim is to reduce recidivism for these youth, increase their hope and opportunity for the future, and propel NYC communities to understand their challenges and support their aspirations.

The program engages 20-25 youth from justice organizations across New York City each year. They meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm.  Any teenager currently or formerly involved in the justice system (15-21 years old) is welcome to audition.

By focusing on important social/emotional learning—rather than punishing youth—our Youth Justice Program strengthens our youth’s chances of becoming peaceful, productive adults and engages them in improving our communities.

Auditions for the Youth Justice Program take place in May each year.

Rehearsals begin in the first week of June and continue through the end of January of the next year.

The premiere performance takes place in December, and Community Action projects take place in January.
