By Any Means follows the lives of court-involved youth as they fight to express their identities and raise their voices in pursuit of justice. Ember, a passionate young activist, grapples with how to find hope and create change when she and her peers are forced to navigate a society where the odds are stacked against them. With original music and based on the cast’s own experiences, By Any Means asks us to examine our conceptions of justice and how we might begin to reach it.
The Possibility Project’s Youth Justice Program is proud to present By Any Means, an original musical drama written and performed by a diverse group of teenagers involved in the justice system. For the past six months, participants have gathered every Monday and Wednesday after school to share, learn, write, act, dance, and sing about the most serious issues facing them today, and to begin to address those issues together. All of their hard work will be put on stage soon at The Frank Shiner Theatre at The Sheen Center, 18 Bleecker Street in Manhattan .
